Design Statement:
This show meant a lot to the director and its/her Chicago roots. We wanted to immediately go simple yet Chicagoan with this dramatic story of two cops. This intense story follows two cops through a series of interviews surrounding a debatable traumatic event. The simplicity stemmed from the idea that the whole show is just literally two cops talking in a precinct or their vehicle. We chose simple yet industrial chairs and a table to reflect this. With this simple world set up we then wanted to surround these characters with the grime yet beauty that Chicago offers. The dripping bleach city skyline surrounded these men along with rusted street signs. It could then show its beauty through the Christmas lights at moments we found appropriate.
